Ten Years of Pétanque NXT Africa: Milestones, Impact, and the Road Ahead

A Decade of Clarity, Confidence, and Change
Ten years ago, Pétanque NXT Africa began with a single purpose: to help organisations bring clarity to compliance complexity, leveraging the unique toolset of VizPro®, developed by our sister company.
VizPro® became our differentiator: a visual, intuitive methodology that cuts through regulatory overwhelm and reveals how compliance, risk, governance, and process truly fit together.
What started as a consultancy built on structure, transparency, and trust has grown into a recognised partner for Compliance, Data Privacy, Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT), and Risk Management across Africa and beyond.
As we celebrate our 10-year anniversary, we look back with gratitude and forward with intent.
From First Projects to Far-Reaching Impact
Our early work focused on mapping compliance and high-risk processes with VizPro® - helping teams see where risk lived, where controls were missing, and how compliance requirements touched real operations. That clarity became the foundation for everything that followed.
With our work in data privacy, we recognised that clients needed something practical: a way to track, manage, and demonstrate compliance without drowning in manual effort or scattered documents.
So we designed our own solution: an Excel-based Privacy Dashboard, supported by clearly defined VizPro® processes. This tool helped clients:
track privacy incidents,
manage policy updates,
map data flows,
organise evidence, and
prepare for POPIA/GDPR audits - all in one structured view.
It became an immediate success among early adopters. And it paved the way for the next evolution.
Recognising the need for a scalable platform, we partnered with PrivIQ a few years later - enabling clients to transition from spreadsheets into a full-fledged privacy management system with:
governance workflows,
automated reminders,
real-time evidence portfolios,
version control, and
privacy dashboards.
This same clarity-driven approach expanded into our partnership with LexisNexis, where we now onboard, train, and support AML/CFT clients using their compliance software, turning complex obligations into repeatable systems supported by strong governance.
